House for New Farm is a contemporary renovation of a California bungalow home. We reimagined it as a private oasis to contrast day-to-day urban life.
The existing house was raised slightly to build additional rooms and maximise the gardens. Ground-level living rooms now sit surrounded by gardens, much like you might find in a rural setting. The design seeks to reconsider the typically grounded California bungalow typology as a sub-tropical, private garden pavilion.
